About Jesse

Hi, I'm Jesse (they/he) and I'm a White, queer, trans, neurodivergent, and disabled Licensed Professional Counselor. My work is grounded in making sense of what you've had to do to survive and making meaning out of what you've been through.

I specialize in working with queer, trans, and neurodivergent adults who feel disconnected from themselves after years of complex trauma, masking, identity transitions, relationship challenges, and systemic oppression. In our sessions, I'll center your autonomy, dignity, and inherent value, while also engaging you with genuine curiosity and gentle playfulness.

Areas of Focus

I work with queer, trans, and neurodivergent people experiencing:

  • Complex trauma and developmental trauma
  • Masking, burnout, and identity confusion
  • OCD and anxiety-related patterns
  • Social isolation and relational challenges
  • Gender identity and life transitions
  • Difficulties with belonging and self-trust

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in both research and relationship.

My practice is often a good fit for people seeking a clearer sense of themselves — their patterns, histories, relationships, and the ways they've learned to adapt and survive. In our sessions, we may explore questions of identity, belonging, and meaning, while also making space for rest, creativity, play, and authentic self-expression.

My Style & Philosophy

My approach is warm, curious, and deeply relational. I believe meaningful change often emerges within a secure, trusting relationship — one where you can slow down, develop who you are, and explore your experiences without judgment or pressure to “perform healing”.

Many of us have experienced shame, invalidation, or relational trauma that has eroded our trust in ourselves. I understand self-trust not as something to “build” quickly, but as something that often returns gradually through making sense of what happened to us, how we adapted, and how those adaptations continue to impact us now. Working with me feels grounding and collaborative — we'll move at a pace that honors your nervous system as we compassionately explore your lived experiences.

I also recognize that our struggles don't exist in isolation. Social, cultural, and political contexts influence what we experience, what we internalize, and what feels possible. Rather than focusing on an idealized version of healing, I'm interested in exploring how these forces shape your life — and what new forms of meaning, agency, or possibility may emerge.

Therapy can't undo what's happened, but together we can create space to see your life story more fully and dream of what else might be possible.

Training & Credentials

I hold a Master's degree in Counseling with a focus on Marriage, Family, and Couples Therapy. My work is informed by interpersonal, psychodynamic, and liberation-based approaches that understand people within the context of their relationships, communities, and environments.

My background includes research in identity, attachment, and human development, which informs how I understand patterns, relationships, and meaning-making in therapy.

I have specialized training in:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Gender-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming care
  • OCD assessment and treatment
  • Trauma treatment
  • Somatic and expressive arts interventions

I draw from these approaches flexibly, adapting them to your goals, capacity, and needs rather than applying a single model.

While my clinical training informs my work, my lived experience with mental illness also affects how I understand suffering, uncertainty, and change. I don't know what you've been through, but I know suffering can take many forms, and I aim to help you make sense of yours.

About Me

When I'm not in the office, I enjoy riding public transit, watching the world from windows, working on creative projects, watching East Asian dramas, and gardening. Some of my special interests include ancient civilizations, animals, dynamic systems theory, and Aleister Crowley's Thoth tarot deck.
